Where does time go?

Thank you for visiting “Life and Random Thinking” today.  – David

My apologies for disappearing off the radar for a few weeks.  I missed you guys also !

It’s summer in Penticton, BC – 34 degrees C or 93.2 F. and I have been enjoying one or both of the two lakes a few minutes from my home.  To be sure, they are chilly but warming up quite a bit this last two weeks.

Also my cherries finally arrived at the beginning of July, I was up a ladder for a few days, pail around my head doing my part picking. My hardworking wife was in the kitchen canning these delicious wonders, this year the tree was generous and the cherries were dark red/black, large and juicy.  See the photo!

Relishes yet to be made, and I want to help with that, and it is now coming into peach and nectarines season. The Peach Festival is normally in a few weeks, but due to Covid, it’s cancelled, I will look forward to 2021. Sigh.

Once again, I enjoy so much visiting and commenting on your blogs and hope you will forgive my absence for a few weeks.♥

I have made note of a few ideas when hiking and working on my fitness, and instead of doing a blog about these thoughts right away, I am sharing them with you for more insights before I write.

I offer to you my reader friends,  three topics to comment on, please comment on one or all three and I look forward to your comments, and your inspirational thoughts. – David

  1. You can’t live in the past.
  2. Delinquents come in all ages.
  3. Comfort zone – place to avoid.

Photos and captions are all mine to share with you. Hugs !

You can’t live in the past..it’s ok to visit but don’t move in there…concentrate on the present!

  2. Hi David,
Forgive you? let me think about it…
Done, forgiven! I am an Aries, it takes me 5 minutes to forgive anyone lol
As far as your topics. 1.You can’t live in the past. – The past is not a place to live. It is a place to visit every now and then to make us realize how far we have come and how much stronger we are.
    Blessings to you! ♥♥

You live in such a special part of the world, David. So glad you’ve been busy enjoying it. I also spend time thinking about blogging topics when I’m out walking. I’m now trying to decide what you were thinking about when you came up with the ‘Delinquents come in all ages’! 😏

It’s easy to be absent when it’s summertime. Beautiful pics! Regarding 1, 2 & 3: I was a delinquent [rebel] in the past, and have evolved into a newer, better version, which keeps me out of the comfort zone and always seeking knowledge. 😁

  10. The delinquents come in all ages struck a chord with me, given the spike in our COVID numbers. One of my Penticton friends has decided to self-isolate again, as she’s in her 70’s and says it’s crazy there right now…no masks or social distancing from visitors. If people don’t get it together and start respecting the seriousness of the situation, then we’re in for a very long, rough road ahead.

So good to see you back, but time away with family is so important. Those cherries look so good. I need to plant some cherry trees next year. And that yellow butterfly, wow, that is the most colorful one I have seen next to the monarchs.
Comfort zones, places to avoid for me is, routines. My working life was a routine and I did not realize it at the time. And when I first retired I fell right back into a routine. When I realized I was still living by a clock, I put a stop to that. Breaking away from conformity, I learned it is about finding freedom from routine and finding your spirit within you. Kind of what you just did. 🙂

So nice to receive your comment, always welcome. That butterfly really stayed awhile. I accumulated watches in my career, now I don’t wear one in retirement, kind of what you referred to. I like your comfort zone response Sandra. My regards to you and hubby. – David

I’m not sure comfort zones should be avoided. We need to rest and regroup before moving on. Catch your breath in the comfort of the zone. Just don’t unpack your bag and set up camp. 🙂

We don’t have the tropical birds some places enjoy. Today though I really noticed that birds are coming to my sunflowers, I have at least 25 plants in front of my house. First the bees come and they are so happy. Now the seeds will come now the bees have taken the pollen and now the birds are coming to peck the seeds. Oops I took the long way to share my news, a beautiful yellow bird visited the sunflowers today and I watched him for five minutes, always makes me happy to watch birds. Where I live there are bald eagles, grey herons, osprey, hawks, and other birds like robins. I am blessed. Thanks for your kind comment. – David

thank you. I do love nature at all times. I went for a late night bike ride after dark last night. fewer people, quiet streets – it was lovely, except I didn’t get to bed until midnight. tired today
