It’s B-day, but not birthday.

ducks

no shoes, see?

There is a day for everything in this shrinking world, and today being June 1 is National Barefoot Day.

Really! You didn’t know that?  I suspect many of you are like me and celebrate this day throughout the year.

The day for me is officially kaput, when I come home, peel off my socks, switch to my levi shorts and put those feet up BAREFOOT!

Tell your boss, it is time to go home (or to a beach or park)  to celebrate this day, kick off those shoes!  The boss can look it up here.

National Go Barefoot Day was launched by a non-profit organization called Soles4Souls. The real purpose behind this quirky holiday is to encourage people to donate new and used shoes to the victims of natural disasters. Take a moment to do a little spring cleaning and give away the shoes you no longer need. You can even organize a shoe drive in your community.

My toes won’t be gracing the cover of any magazine covers soon, but the warm weather is here and the sandals are on!

Celebrate the day please and share how you did in the comments!

I am pretty much barefoot most days. My husband used to roll his eyes at me when I would pull off my winter boots, only to reveal no socks…just bare feet. If & when I do have wear socks or leotards/pantyhose, I can’t wait to rip those suckers off as soon as I get home!

  3. What a pity we are going into winter in the southern hemisphere. Don’t think it will get lots of traction here. Having said that we have had the most glorious warm autumn weather and now winter has arrived with a punch.
I do like those ducks and glad you are celebrating the day. Louise

Omg ! I never knew there was a National Barefoot Day! 😀 I’m one of those who celebrate it everyday. 😀 That feeling of going barefoot over pebbles and dipping your naked feet in the rushing river water ,that’s the best feeling in the world,if you ask me 😀 🙂

  9. The earth is the most powerful battery there is. We draw healing energy when we go barefoot (over half-hr).
