Tourist in your own Town

2013-10-12 14.30.17The town where I live relies on events, events and volunteers, to entice tourists to our beautiful spot.

It is a lovely city, nestled in a valley, two different lakes at each end,  you can walk the length of the city in an hour. A Place to Live Forever, and where Elvis lives on.

I think Elvis will be here this weekend, along with lots of other 50’s and 60’s music celebrities and music.  You see this is our weekend for classic cars, it’s a three day event, over 600 cars this year and they parade tonight, and you can view them everywhere in town it seems but especially lined up along lakeshore drive.

So being a tourist in your own town is fun, and it’s affordable. You can sleep in your own bed at night,  drink your morning java from your favorite cuppa.

Since most of my readers are “away”,  you have to come here to meet Elvis, see the cars, visit the wineries which are perched on the sides of the valley looking down on beautiful lakes, Okanagan and Skaha.

Yes, I like being a tourist in my own town, and I like sticking my toes in the lake, and feeling all comfy at home.

Quote for the day: Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!   Dr. Seuss

So true! The more I see other places, the more I appreciate how truly lucky we are to live in this heaven on earth! We are going to get out and enjoy the sunny Okanagan as much as possible.
